So, for FIAR, we weren't doing official Morning Time at that stage of our lives, however, what I would suggest is using the Bible/Character Study stuff along with maybe the art components as parts of your MT... you can tie in what you are already going to do from FIAR WITH the MT, which would really help in keeping it simple. I'd say, yea, bible, character topics, art... maybe add a few hymns or songs (Hide 'Em in Your Heart are awesome) and you're good to go!Cassandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06929231009510772743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4400013362999368442.post-54832741854009374242016-09-23T19:43:27.032-07:002016-09-23T19:43:27.032-07:00Hi Brittany! :) Thank you!!! I see that you have used Five in a Row and that you are a lover of Morning Time. We are currently using FIAR and love it, but would also love to incorporate MT a little more. Did you ever do both, and if so, how did that work for you? Mine are still very young, so I don't want to overwhelm us, but would definitely love to do both if we're able!

Thanks so much for your time!
BrittanyBrittanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16763740486268836861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4400013362999368442.post-51313826918650081632016-09-19T20:30:50.371-07:002016-09-19T20:30:50.371-07:00Hello! I love how you strive to create an atmosphere of constant learning and togetherness in your home instead of just getting through school time. I also really love Sarah McKenzie. I think I'm going to reread her book because it makes me happy, and I love her podcast, too! Keep sharing and I'm going to keep reading and feeling really good about homeschooling.Theresahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00171627134084413195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4400013362999368442.post-16214565655872885502016-08-07T14:47:15.233-07:002016-08-07T14:47:15.233-07:00Haha... We use a combination of things because I am never quite satisfied with spelling either. Our spelling is a bit of a mess right now, so the kids need to work on that this year. We use dictation, copywork, Spelling Wisdom, Learning to Spell through Copywork... and rotate through a bunch of that, to be honest. ;)
Cassandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06929231009510772743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4400013362999368442.post-76520954617201828192016-08-06T18:49:52.678-07:002016-08-06T18:49:52.678-07:00Thank you for such a detailed post! We also do ACTS, but I learned it from another blog as Wow, Sorry, Thanks and Please and that works for us :-) I too try to fit everything under the guise of morning time and usually fail, especially with a toddler interrupting. I'm going to try a morning time and family loop this year too instead of all morning time. Other than that we share a lot of the same resources, except I use AO because my kids are so close in age they can be in the sane year. What do you use for spelling? That is where I'm struggling the most on whether to just do the SCM spelling wisdom or if that is not enough.Angela Bergeronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15546773283894145435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4400013362999368442.post-53325550161850691042016-08-03T19:49:21.501-07:002016-08-03T19:49:21.501-07:00Oh, yaye! I'm such a dork. I'm inspired to re-visit it (because the kids love it and beg for it) and will simplify it. I love love your morning time binder and can't wait to see your post about that, I want to do one too, instead of scrambling for all my materials or pulling from various resources and wasting time hunting for it. Just flip and bam! Love it! We use Robinson Curriculum, which is pretty set in stone, but after we're done with that, we have other resources we use, I love the idea of using the looping schedule to get through that without overwhelming ourselves or trying to cram our days with things and causing misery (mine). I can't wait to come back and read more of your follow-up posts.
